Martyn’s London Marathon

Martyn-MarathonFor years I’ve dreamt about running in the London Marathon, my mum will tell you that I used to ask each year if I could do it only to be told I wasn’t old enough.
I’ve never been much of a runner (bad knees and dodgy ankles) but I decided earlier this year to have a crack at it and I have been fortunate enough to have been given a place.

This is my first marathon and I’m lucky to a part of it. Even before I knew I had secured a place, I knew I wanted to raise money for the Brain Tumour Trust in memory if Jodie Adams (Jodie Adams Fund). I didn’t know Jodie before she passed away, but I have been involved in other fund raising events for the charity and I know what important work they do in the reasearch of brain tumours.

26.2 miles completed in 3:54:02! What an amazing day, what amazing support and what an amazing total raised! Thank you all for helping to get there… Was a great day that I will never forget and hope to improve if I can get a place next year. Thank you again!
